Field of View (FoV) Calculator
The Field of View (FoV) in macro photography refers to how much of the subject fits within the frame at a given magnification. It depends on the sensor size and the magnification ratio.
The basic formula is:
[math]\large
FoV= \frac{ Sensor\,Dimension }{Magnification}
[/math]
This formula applies individually to the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal dimensions of the sensor.
Example: Full Frame Sensor (36mm × 24mm) at 1:1 Magnification
[math]\large Horizontal\,FoV= \frac{ 36mm }{1}=36mm[/math]
[math]\large Vertical\,FoV= \frac{ 36mm }{1}=36mm[/math]
